This Privacy Policy applies to Nutmeg AI, Inc. ("Company", "we", "us", and "our") and our mobile application "Twinsi" and website at https://twinsi.app (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy describes the information that we gather from you, how we use and disclose such information, and the steps we take to protect such information.

Information We Collect

User-Provided Information

When you use Twinsi, we collect information including:

  • Phone number (used to create and authenticate your account via SMS verification code)
  • Display name and profile information you provide
  • Fitness activity data you record or sync
  • Workout logs, challenge scores, and competition results
  • Feedback ratings on our features and analysis
  • Fitness goals and development focus areas
  • Comments and votes on other users' content
  • Friend connections and social interactions
  • Usage preferences and settings

Phone Number and Authentication

Twinsi uses phone-number-based authentication. When you sign up or sign in, you provide your phone number and we send you a one-time verification code via SMS. We use your phone number solely to:

  • Verify your identity and authenticate your account
  • Send you a one-time SMS verification code during sign-up or sign-in
  • Enable other Twinsi users who already have your phone number in their contacts to find and connect with you (only when those users have opted in to the contact-matching feature)

We do not use your phone number for marketing, promotional SMS messages, or any purpose unrelated to account authentication and the friend-matching feature described above.

Contacts (Optional)

Twinsi offers an optional feature that lets you find friends who are already using the app. If you choose to enable this feature, we will request access to the phone numbers stored in your device's contact list. This access is entirely optional — the app is fully functional without it.

If you grant access, we use your contacts solely to match phone numbers against existing Twinsi accounts so we can suggest people you may know. Specifically:

  • Phone numbers from your contacts are sent to our servers in hashed form for matching purposes only
  • We do not store your contact list or any contact names on our servers
  • We do not build a social graph or contact database from your contacts
  • We do not use your contacts for marketing, advertising, or any purpose other than suggesting friend connections within Twinsi
  • We will never contact anyone in your contact list on your behalf (e.g., by sending SMS invitations or messages) without your separate, explicit initiation for each individual recipient

You can revoke contact access at any time through your device's Settings. Revoking access will stop future contact matching but will not affect friend connections you have already established.

By submitting content to Twinsi, you grant us the right to use your content to train and improve our AI models to provide better fitness experiences for all users.

Automatically Collected Information

When you use our Services, we may automatically record certain information from your device for analytics purposes, including:

  • Device information (device model, operating system, unique device identifiers)
  • Mobile app usage data and crash reports
  • Pages visited and features used within the app
  • Dates and times of your sessions

Fitness and Activity Data

  • Workout Data: We store and process the fitness activity data you record or sync from third-party apps
  • Twinsi Evolution Data: We track your companion's growth and evolution stages
  • Session History: We maintain your workout sessions and activity history
  • User Feedback: We track your ratings on feature quality to improve our services
  • Social Content: Comments, votes, and interactions with other users' challenges
  • Competition Data: Challenge scores, leaderboard rankings, and performance comparisons

How We Use Your Information

Provide Core Services:

  • Track your fitness activity and manage your digital companion
  • Generate personalized fitness feedback and companion evolution
  • Maintain your workout sessions and activity history
  • Remember your fitness goals and focus areas
  • Enable social features like friend connections and challenges
  • Display leaderboards and competition rankings
  • Facilitate comments and voting on challenge content

Improve Our Services:

  • Develop new features for fitness and companion experience based on user feedback
  • Understand usage patterns to improve app functionality
  • Train our AI models on fully anonymized data containing no personally identifiable information, to improve accuracy and experience for all users

Communication:

  • Send you activity results and fitness feedback
  • Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries
  • Send occasional updates about new features (with your consent)

When We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these circumstances:

With Your Consent: We will share information when you explicitly agree to such sharing.

Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party providers to deliver the Services. These providers may have access to your information as necessary to perform services such as data storage, processing, AI analysis, analytics, and app hosting. We contractually require all such providers to maintain data protection standards equivalent to those described in this Privacy Policy, to use your information only as directed by us, and to comply with applicable privacy laws. Currently, Google serves as our primary provider across all of the categories listed below. This may change over time as we evaluate and onboard new providers; we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly when such changes occur.

  • Cloud Infrastructure & Hosting: For secure storage and delivery of your data
  • Analytics Tools: To understand usage patterns and improve app performance
  • AI Processing Services: To power personalized fitness feedback and companion features
  • Authentication Services: To verify your identity via SMS-based verification codes and secure your account

We do not share your data with advertising networks or sell it to third parties for marketing purposes.

Private Data: Your private fitness sessions remain private to your account unless you choose to share them.

Social Features: When you participate in challenges, your scores, activity data, and performance may be visible to other users based on your privacy settings. Comments and votes you make on others' content will be publicly visible.

Leaderboards: Your performance in challenges may appear on public leaderboards with your username and scores.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

Business Transfers: Information may be transferred if we are acquired or merge with another company.

Data Storage and Security

Data Storage: Your data is securely stored using cloud hosting services to provide the Services and track your progress over time.

Activity Data: Your fitness feedback and session history are preserved to maintain context for future use.

AI Training: Data used to train our AI models is first anonymized — all personally identifiable information is removed — so it cannot be linked back to you.

Security: We use standard security practices and work with reputable cloud providers to protect your information. However, no internet-based service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-Party Services: We rely on third-party cloud providers and services to deliver Twinsi. We contractually require these providers to maintain data protection standards equivalent to those described in this Privacy Policy. See the "When We Share Information" section for a list of service provider categories we use.

Data Retention: We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion or a verified deletion request:

  • Your account and associated personal data will be deleted within 7 days of the confirmed request
  • Data that has already been fully anonymized and used for AI model training may be retained in de-identified form and cannot be linked back to you
  • We may retain certain records for as long as required by law (e.g., financial records, legal disputes)

Mobile App Permissions

When you use the Twinsi mobile app, we may request access to certain device features:

Camera and Microphone: To record fitness activities for coaching or participating in challenges

Photo/Video Library: To upload existing content from your device

Contacts: If you choose to enable the optional friend-matching feature, we request read-only access to the phone numbers in your device's contact list to suggest people you may know on Twinsi. We do not store your contact list, contact names, or use this data for any purpose other than suggesting friend connections. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time without affecting any other app functionality.

Notifications: To send you activity results and app updates (with your permission)

Health & Fitness Data: To sync workout data from Apple Health, Google Fit, or other fitness platforms (with your permission)

You can control all of these permissions through your device settings at any time. Denying any optional permission will not prevent you from using the core features of the app.

Your Rights and Choices

Account Access: You can view and update your profile information and preferences.

Data Requests: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing us at support@nutmegsports.ai. We will respond within 30 days. To delete your account and all associated data, you can also use the account deletion option within the app settings.

Revoking Consent: Where we process your data based on your consent (e.g., AI training, contact matching, marketing communications), you may withdraw that consent at any time by:

  • Emailing support@nutmegsports.ai with the subject line "Withdraw Consent"
  • Adjusting permissions in your device settings (for contacts, camera, health data, and notifications)
  • Updating your communication preferences in the app settings

Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal, and some features may become unavailable if consent is revoked for data essential to their operation.

Marketing Communications: You can opt out of promotional emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or contacting us directly. You will continue to receive important service and account-related communications.

Children's Privacy

Twinsi is not directed at anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a user under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe we may have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us at support@nutmegsports.ai.

Limitations and Disclaimers

Service Availability: Twinsi depends on third-party cloud services and internet connectivity. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to the app or your data.

Third-Party Service Reliability: We carefully select our service providers and contractually require them to uphold data protection standards consistent with this Privacy Policy. However, we cannot guarantee against service outages or technical failures caused by third-party infrastructure, and we recommend keeping copies of important data you cannot afford to lose.

Data Loss: While we use reliable cloud storage, we recommend keeping copies of important data as we cannot guarantee against data loss due to technical failures or third-party issues.

International Users

If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers are located. By using our Services, you consent to this transfer and processing. We will take reasonable steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the app. Your continued use of Twinsi after changes become effective indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
